Counteract the effect of bike accidents due to right
turning cars/trucks who oversee the cyclists at HC Andersens
Boulevard in Copenhagen.
Installed in 2009.
When the traffic light is green for cyclists and
motorists, and there are registered cyclists in the cycle lane,
the road studs in the cycle lane start flashing, to draw the
motorists' attention to the fact that cyclists on the cyle lane
are approaching the intersection.
When there are no cyclists close to the intersection,
the road studs automatically switch off.
The road studs also switch off when the traffic light is
still green for the motorists, but has switched to red for the
cyclists.
As of 2009 cyclists were counted at this intersection.
